Etymology
Unclear. Possibly related to 崧 (OC *suŋ), 宗 (OC *tsˤuŋh), 崇 (OC *dzruŋ), 聳 (OC *soŋʔ) or 竦 (OC *soŋʔ). It is occasionally written for 宗 (OC *tsˤuŋh) in the Tsinghua Bamboo Slips 繫年, and is suspected to be a phonetic loan for 竦 (OC *soŋʔ) in the Shuihudi Qin Bamboo Texts 日書甲·詰.
